    Ford-Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, Colorado, is seeking an experienced Funeral Director for temporary work from November 17 to 25, 2018.

    The duties entail managing office operations, meeting with families, and coordinating arrangements for removals, embalming and services. 

    Prefer Colorado candidates who maintain certification as Certified Funeral Director (CFD), with at least 3 years of funeral directing experience within the State of Colorado.

    Position Summary

    Family Service Directors serve families with care and compassion, educating them through the process of making informed decisions for At-Need Funeral products and services.

    Family Service Directors will demonstrate by example, CFCS’ Core Values–Share the Journey, Serve with Care, and Make It Happen–in all their dealings with families, staff, and internal/external contacts.

    Reporting to the Location Manager, Family Service Directors interact with families, Funeral Assistants, Preparation Room staff, and many other internal/external personnel/departments.

    ·      College degree preferred, and/or 2-4 years in a customer service role requiring direct contact with the public (both on the telephone and face-to-face)

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    ·      Knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditions

    ·      Understanding of the Order of Christian Funerals

    ·      Able to conduct oneself with a “Family First” approach

    ·      Working knowledge of funeral services, ceremonies, and case management

    ·      Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart

    The Funeral Service Assistant will set-up and assist with viewings, funeral services, memorial services, etc.

    • Performs a variety of tasks during funerals and visitations to assist funeral directors and ensures that services run smoothly as planned
    • Assists the Funeral Director in the movement of the casketed deceased and other related paraphernalia in and out of the visitation area, funeral home chapel, church or other place of service
    • Drives the hearse, family limousine or other vehicle in funeral related activities

    • Being on call and available to make removals during both the daytime and or nighttime hours.

    Ahlberg Funeral Chapel is an independent family owned mortuary looking to hire a funeral director and embalmer to join our growing organization.  We have a Full-Time opening for a Funeral Director/Embalmer in Longmont, Colorado along the front range of the Rocky Mountains.

    As a Funeral Director/ Embalmer, you will work with our team of professionals who are motivated and honored to serve all families.  Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory serves over 450 families annually. We are looking for someone who can quickly adapt to the needs of each individual family by presenting personal, meaningful, and unique solutions to help families celebrate a life that has been lived. The qualities that are necessary for success are great written and verbal communication skills, compassion, discretion, and team effectiveness.  A warm and friendly attitude, and professional appearance are also very important.

    Our directors are responsible for all aspects of funeral service including, but not limited to:  making removals, arranging services, working visitations, embalming and other preparation, cremations and funeral directing.  Duties also include some minor maintenance work and other tasks to help ensure the funeral home is running smoothly.  We are looking for individuals who are sincere, kind, professional, caring, helpful, committed and someone that places client satisfaction as a top priority.
